HELP!!!! avatar troubels

I'm having problems with finding an avater. when ever i go to upload an image it will say "image size must be under 9KB". thats fine exept for the fact that i can't find a good avater.

If your file size is too big, try saving as a different file type. Jpgs are the best image format with compression. pngs are the next best image type as they too have compression. Bitmaps are always large files, so try to stay away from them when you are trying to have a moderately sized avatar with many colors. If that doesn't work upload the image to a free file hosting site so the image isn't loaded to the RF server. That will enable you to have a larger avatar.
