*Sigh* noob here wanting a bit of help

Post by Xenxe »

well to be honest i have no clue what this engine is about and i have been messing with it for 4 hours now and cant figure anything out really so i will give you a list of what i am trying to accomplish...

1.I need to know how to make mele weapon AI for enemy and Player friendly actors

2.I also need to know how to make a player friendly actor :D

3.how to make mele weapons in general

4.an invintory for holding weapons (i need to make it so they can only hold 3 or 4 weapons at a time)

and thats the small stuff i am asking

well i have a big idea and it involves PREY style portals
the kind you can shoot through and i was wondering if that would be possible?
can this engine even render to texture?
can it make it so if somthing collides with it it teleports it to another place?

i hope ll of my information is well thought over for i am but a noob with some 3d modeling experience and nothing really more...

Oh yeah and hi im new to the community this is my first post :D

Just get me started and i will show you people what i am capible of!

Welcome....but RTFM. If you read about the engine and how it works, you will understand it. It will answer at least half of your questions. You may want to try the tutorials also.

People that ask for help without trying to help themselves really do not want help. They want someone to do it for them. That is not the way to learn anything.

welcome to the forums!
a melee enemy script is in the realityfactory/scripts/sample folder in your hard drive. a friendly pawn is also pretty simple. you have to change a setting in the script. melee weapons are in the manual i think in weapon/projectile definition.

THANK YOU EVERYONE

i am well on my way to making a game now i currently have a room with an enemy entity that punches me when it sees me or i shoot it and a friendly one that helps me kill the enemy

i know it isnt much but its a start

what i cant figure out is the whole making the weapon be in your hand part

i can make a working weapon because it shoots and does damage but the weapon is on the ground and not in the players hand so this puzzles me

alos for some reason my "friendly" entity attacks other friendly entits even though i et the script not to attack friendly entity groups.....

but other than that i am starting to understand
