gmax can take .max models can't it?
If it can, open it in Gmax and save it as a .gmax file. Then use the actor creator (in the tools directory) to open it up, set the motion paths, texture directory, etc. then set the directory to save it in and hit convert. and you have an actor.

open the RF folder and go to the tools directory. there's an exe file called either Actor Creator or Actor Converter.
Now to get there, you must install Gmax, and open the .max file in it. Then save it as a .Gmax file. These can be turned directly into actors.

Gmax can't open .max files.
Re: Converting to .max models into actors (please asap)
.max files can only be opened using 3ds max, no other program can open that file format.

My bad then.
Can't 3ds Max export them as something else?
Or... even better, go into the tools folder and open AStudio.exe
Press File > New and name your actor in the text box. Then, go to the body tab and check the bubble that says 3DS MAX (.Max)

I'm not sure about this but I think Astudio can only build actors from very old versions of 3DSMax.
There are .nfo and .key exporters for some versions of 3DSMax but you need the exporters for the version of 3DSMax you are rich enough to own.

I posted updated expoters for the latest version of 3ds max.I'm not sure about this but I think Astudio can only build actors from very old versions of 3DSMax.
3DS MAX 2008 Exporters
Yes, 3ds max supports almost all the major formats so they could be exported to a format Milkshape or GMax can import. Can't 3ds Max export them as something else?
I took a look at the models and they are missing the texture files and they need to have a bone assigned to them and be physiqued before 3ds max can export a NFO file. Also since I don't know where the files came from I'm not wanting to work on them due to they might be copyrighted.
