It's still moving along. It is very useable. AgentArrow was creating a level with it. He was supposed to post some screenshots...dunno what happened though.

Sorry, Shoulda told. Class Trip to Washington DC. I had no internet for a week and a half.
The level's almost done and ready for screens.
One thing I did notice, is that unless the walls of two rooms match up perfectly, the textures inside don't. In RF, the textures flow from one room to the other. Jet 3D doesn't do this and it creates quite ugly seams between rooms.

Ok. That's good to know. That means there is something wrong with the texture coordinate generation.

It does. My ISP screwed up the transfer. It should be online soon.

Is jet3d still alive, paradox?I'm not sure, but I thought jet3d could do much larger levels than Rf could......

Yes...it is. My server suffered a crash and I bought a new Sun Blade server to put it on. I am installing all the software required to run the website now. I should have it up by this weekend.

Hey paradox, I was doing that level I promised you a while ago and came across this:
while texturing it, the textures stretch to fit the room. So if the rooms aren't uniform in size, neither are the textures. Any way I can fix this?

Thanks....my only problem with Rf is the size of the levels. When doing a rpg, such as the one I want to do....I don't have many options, as i'm not a programmer, and have to have a level editor and a ready-made game engine.

I have one, 3d RpgBuilder version 2004, that does GIGANTIC outdoors areas....but it's an unfinished product, i'm trying to contact the guy who made it so I can get the source for it somehow.Right now, i'm the only person on the whole internet that's hosting a download for it.Outside of that thing for the playstation2, it's the most complete 3d rpg creation tool there is.

It's extremely hard to make buildings for, as I'm not great at quake-style editors like quark, and milkshape's map exporting function is....bleh.I do have a Blender book that explains everything about that confusing piece of software, though.

See, my first game has to be a fps.RF is great for that....kind of a resident evil 1 style fps.Second game has to be an adventure-style in the vein of King's Quest.Third game is a pre-cursor to the rpg, an rpg itself( jay knows a few details of it, heh.)I can do these 3 in Rf, as the third one is a dungeon crawler-type game.but the full blown expansive world rpg.....I want Morrowind-style huge areas, which I can do in 3d rpg builder 2004( with no load time at all....takes you 15-30 minutes to run from one end to the other)....but the models are stuck in quake 2 .md2 territory, and buildings etc. are .map files.

Edit: it also doesn't produce an .exe, you run the game from an application provided.which is why i want the source, since the guy who made it abandonded it for another product.

Agentarrow:

In the 3d view click on the texture you want to change then in it's properties tab open the face Info tab and you should see the Shift tab which allows you to shift the texture vertically and horizontally. There is also the Draw Scale tab that allows you to change the scale of the texture. The Light Map Scale tab will allow you to change the scale of the light map making for finer or rougher shadows.

Lookin' good AA. :) Too many lights in that little alcove there though. If you are looking for a bright look, just make the faces fullbright.

angle problem, those lights are very far apart. but from the angle you see it, they're... a bit more squished.
