I got, as a school promo (before school ended) A little card that said go to mypromomusic.com/hoops for download of one free song. I thought it would be okay so I go there, it says click to view the list. I click. It redirects me to ballyhoo music and asks me to create an account. I make one up real quick and go to the list, find a song I like and hit download. The site redirects me to a page that says: in order to download music from ballyhoo, you need passalong software, download passalong.exe now!
I gave up...

Good thing you gave up. Sounds like it was a scam. Never jump through hoops for anything on the internet. If its not straight forward, I don't trust it.
