RTS with online community
RTS with online community
I am looking for a cool RTS (with an active online community), that can run on the following computer:
AMD Athlon 2.0 Ghz
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9200, 128 MB ram, pixel shader 1.1 support
Also, I can't buy it online, so it should be a recent one.
I already own all AOE games.

Warcraft III + The Frozen Throne. Excellent game. Loads of player online. It's a bit old though, but I think you can still find it in stores.
Pain is only psychological.
Re: RTS with online community
I just saw that it has been redrawn from the stores near me one day ago.
but thanks for the quick reply. I'll try to order it somewhere.
I heard though, that only the pro's play WC3 for that tournament, so would it be easy for a beginner like me?
And what about Dawn of War?

Re: RTS with online community
Well, there are some pretty hardcore gamers online. They'll own you in the face so hard you don't know what hit you. But I think Battle.net puts you against players of your own skill. I haven't played it much online but I think it's pretty newbie-friendly. Of course it's wise to play the single player campaign first so you get the basics.
Pain is only psychological.

u probably want to up your ram a little bit because online play uses up a lot of ram, also what OS are you running?Matte wrote: AMD Athlon 2.0 Ghz

Win XP, and upgrading is not an option (who doesn't love parents) but yeah, my pc sucks...
Re: RTS with online community
Also, I prefer big battles like in AgeOfEmpires. Just to let you know

I never get lag in Age of Empires 3, unless there are like 100 cannons. On TF2, my ping never goes over 80 (woot that's high xD), FPS in CSS is about 50.Trougedoor122 wrote:then u might git a decent amount of lag

Oh. Looked over that.
Sorry if my previous post sounded a bit offending, I didn't mean that.

Re: RTS with online community
i assume you are using a desktop for playing your games.
Re: RTS with online community
The original Starcraft.
Many Bothans died to bring you this signature....

Yes, I am using a desktop (that is a case and a seperate screen, right? ::dumb::)
What about BFME2 or Star Wars: Empire At War? I've read review about both games and I think I would prefer the SW:EaW game, but do you think it still has a big community? (EA Support isn't really the same as Blizzard Support)
