The Tower of Druaga
My friend showed me the first episode and now I'm hooked. Here's a link if anyone is interested

The anime is based on the video game of the same name and is available on youtube. The company plans on releasing more episodes in 2009 (currently only 12).

Hmm, I'm not really into anime... might check it out later though.

Me neither. It took quite a long time before this board too got contaminated. But I guess everything good must come to an end. It was only a matter of time.Destron wrote:Hmm, I'm not really into anime...

I take it then that I've committed blasphemy against the rf forums? Don't get me wrong I'm not a fanboy but if the series is good (based on my opinion of it) then I'll watch it. Everything has its level of obsession but some of those anime fanatics turn me away from certain series.
I'm somewhat certain your comment was in jest however I don't believe I was the first to mention anime (perhaps the word anime) since someone else mentioned Yu Gi Oh. Just throwing that out there before stones start being thrown at me.
Anyway I like to think that the video game aspect of it offers redemption. It really reminded me of Wizard of Wor so that's probably why I've taken a liking to it. It doesn't hurt that the first episode parodies rpg plot elements.

Yeah, my earlier post is not to be taken seriously. TBH, I have nothing against anime. I've just never really liked it, either. Although I have to admit that some anime and manga series deal with some really serious and complicated "adult stuff" unlike most American/European cartoons which are mainly for children.

The anime that I'm really into is Detective Conan. Appart from that, I'm not into anime either, although I have nothing against it.

I will have to check this out. I probably better finish watching bleach first though. I'll get sidetracked and forget to come back. Is the game its based off of any good?

I haven't tried playing it yet, but based on some reviews I've read its not looked at fondly over here. The game sounds fun, defeat monsters in the maze to unlock treasure chests to get items, but the maze is always the same with just the items appearing at different points. I'll give it a go this weekend and report back here.jonas wrote:I will have to check this out. I probably better finish watching bleach first though. I'll get sidetracked and forget to come back. There are a few that have the potential to be really cool when made to a game. But the developers just try and find the simplest way to get the anime into a game. Which ends up sucking. Naruto is an example of that.
