Re: Metal Force (new screens)
Thanks! More comming soon! (that level's included in the demo by the way...and it's the first level in the game)
Re: Metal Force (new screens)
Nice solid design for your levels. They're gonna be looking real slick when you've finished doing all the lighting. I'm definitely looking forward to the demo.

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
nope,I bough that for 19,than I merged it with a hand model I have and made the animations myself the one for 3$ I think it was not 1,was so high poly, that I couldn't even import it in Milkshape I tried everything..but no luck .As a matter of fact almost all of the guns In my game are bought for 15$ or 194...some of them for less and are merged and animated by me.
Also for the progjectile: It's an animated "sprite" effect attatched to the projectile 3D model. It has 10 bitmaps and 10 alphamaps for it's animation.I worte that, because I want you guys to know that it's noj jsut a plain static picture of some green glowing thing it's animated and I think it looks cool. Also it has a light effect attatched to it,so that there's the illusion that glowing thing is really glowing

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
mm,let's say about 4 months NON-STOP work, else it's 10 months ,with all the school, holidays and problems. That's my dream since I was a 4 year old kid - to create a game and now in my free time I only do that...except all the extreme and motor sports I do

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
oh,sorry.Well,about...600 $ . It's all spent on models, textures and music. The guys from the team work without money.Maybe it was a mistake that I started that huge project, because I've never done something like it before.I didn't even know about RF before (what a shame ).After that I'm planing to work on small projects and than I have an idea for another Huge project.

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
yeah thats alot to spend on a game, maybe you should consider learning how to model and make textures because you will probably not be able to get all that back since RF games dont usually sell for very much.
but anyway nice game.

Re: Metal Force (new screens)
my game is free,so I won't be getting anything back . I don't know..it's fun when you buy things. For example downloading a pirated version of a game isn't that fun as buying the game, because 50% of the pleasure of the game is to buy the game itself...at least I think like that. All that became like a hobby to me....I also do that with my bike for example, when I buy a new bike,I start saving money and buying new - cooler and better parts for it,and when I finnish with "tunning" the bike,it just feels great when you know that you have different parts from different places and finally the result is something cool! I hope that the same will be for my game too (the "cool" thing
Also I thing that's a good start, because I wanna be a game developer (a real one).I'm even studying in that kind of school. In school everybody has a PC on his desk...sadly we only have about 4 hours a week of programing...the rest of the time we study about the computer's architecture..or how to use Notepad ...sounds stupid, but some of my classmates can hardly save a file with a .txt extention .And in theese classes (talkin' about the computer's architecture)...we play Counter Strike .Today we had 5 classes....and in 4 of them I played Counter Strike and Jazz Jackrabit 2 (I usually don't like that counter strike game, but in school even the worst game may seem fun )

Imagine tuning your bike with parts you've made yourself. Now that would be cool, eh?metal_head wrote:I also do that with my bike for example, when I buy a new bike,I start saving money and buying new - cooler and better parts for it,and when I finnish with "tunning" the bike,it just feels great when you know that you have different parts from different places and finally the result is something cool!
I haven't commented much on your game but I've always thought you've got some pretty neat level design there. Nice work. I can't wait to play the demo.
Pain is only psychological.

The same is with the modeling and texturing - I can make my own,but my models and textures don't look very good.
oh yeah, thanks for the nice comments!
