How Can I Move The Camera Like This:

Post by metal_head »

Another video of skullcrack, which amazed me!
http://skullcrack.nuke.webeitor.com/mod ... rint&sid=3
How can I move the camera like that, I've tried with animated models, but it's not working. With an animated model I can move the camera upwards, downlwards, forwards, backwards, sideways, but I can't rotate it while moving. I don't think that's made with script points. It's really cool, so please if anyone knows how to make it, HELP me. Let's hope Zidane will se the topic also, after all he is the one who made it.

I believe that is indeed made with a pawn following script points. IMO, pawns are the easiest to use, most versatile and produce the best result in this kind of stuff.

IMO = In my opinion

The statement should be read like this:

"In my opinion, Pawns are the easiest to use..."

This is an Entidad3D video. I attach the camera to a model brush.

In RF you can attach the camera to a pawn or attach to a brush model too (same the video)

yeah, but in RF I can't rotate the camera while moving, why E3D can do that and RF can't? The editors look pretty much the same

In Entidad3D the fixed camera can see to a point of map. In RF, if you use a point and a camera pawn you can rotate the camera

So I'll have to go with a scripted pawn (damn, last time I couldn't get it to patrol :D ).

Sorry paradoxnj, that happens very often to me :( I have problems with my computer (it sort of glitches and displays a massage saying "the display driver has stopped and recovered") I usually delete my double posts, but I've missed this one, it won't happen again :)

No problem. Sometimes the server will take a minute to process your request. Some people try clicking the submit button again which results in double posts.

As for your computer issue...I suggest re-installing your video driver.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've already tried that and that thing still happens sometimes (thank god it's not in a five minute interval or something), I got the feeling that my Vista doesn't like the Driver :D , to install it I had to run the setup file in compability mode...

There is your issue right there. You are not using a Vista compatible driver. What kind of video card do you have?

mine is Nvidia 6600, I've searched everywhere for a driver, and the only one I found was for XP. I also found a driver for Vista, but when I tried to install it, it said "The setup device couldn't find any drivers on your system, that are compatible with your current hardware" .

Maybe this driver is not available for Vista, after all it's an old Video Card

Go to http://www.nvidia.com/page/drivers.html

Product Type: GeForce
Product Series: GeForce 6 Series
Operating System: Whatever you have

And it gives you the newest driver for your card.

***EDIT***
Yet another great example of how to go off-topic the RF style.

Thanks Juutis, I think that fixed the problem, I'll have to play some Half Life 1 to see if that still happens (the quicker way to check it, cuz in games that thing happens alfuly often).
