How Pickles made the 'Speed City' instruments?

Post by federico »

Asking directly to him, 'cause I think that you read the forum daily, how hve put set the hud to create the tachimeter of the bike? The hud support the vertical, horizontal and numeric type. If I remember correctly in that game there was a rotation pointer as indicator for the speed. Was it an 'hack' of the source or have you found some strange trick?

@ Pickles:

Tell me where I can find again your demos so I can set up again your demo page (have you the html source?). Please don't lose this opportunity. It's for the community. Send me a PM

Federico,

Quest just put the rest of Pickles' demos at http://terrymorgan.net/download.htm
Hit CTRL-F and search the word 'games'.

You could for example use a flipbook style of HUD, where you change the pictures dependent on the indication you require, eg defined by attribute
Or you can use the DrawPicture command, and again use a flipbook style

Not sure what Pickles used

In Speed City there is an hud image used to show the stamina of the player but it isn't a real tachimeter...
I'm trying to create a tachimeter for the physicscar
