Blender and Anim8or

Post by Creature »

I have Blender and Anim8or and can model and create animations in both. Is there a way to export those as actors for RF? (for free. I don't have any money right now to spend on commercial 3D modeling progs. (even 25$))

I don't think you can export animations with anim8or, I haven't been able to.

Dang.

Blender Export function says it can export in the following formats:

VRML 1.0
DXF
Videoscape
STL
AC3D (.ac)
Cal3D v0.9
DEC Object File Format (.off)
DirectX (.x)
DirectX8 (.x)
LightWave (.lwo)
Motion Capture (.bvh)
Nendo (.ndo)
Radiosity (.radio)
Raw Triangle (.raw)
True Space (.cob)
VRML 2.0 (.wrl)
VideoScope w/ Vertex Colors (.obj)
Wavefront (.obj)
Wings3D (.wings)

Are there any (legally free)converters available ?

Do you have gmax? If so you can probably find an importer for one of those and use the nfo exporter.

True Space (.cob)
There's a converter for Truespace

TrueSpace 3.2 is free
The converter can be found here:

Thanks, guys.

Since RF is constantly being updated, is there a plugin in the works for importing blender files? Blender being the best open source 3d modeling/rendering/animation program. :D

The truespace thing doesn't work right.
you should use gmax with the nfo exporter.

I tried the truespace and couldn't get it working but with Gmax it is still a little hard but easy enough 8)

gmax was free. Since Autodesk stopped support and dowloading ability, could we upload it to the FTP space? I have everything you would need for gmax.

I am pretty experienced in Blender so I think I wan't to stick to blender. So once again I ask: is it possible to make models to RF with blender?

No prob. Once you have gmax you should be able to import .x files with gmax then import them from there to RF

without a third party plugin, gmax cannot import .x files, and i do not know of such an importer. could have simply not heard of one, though.

you could use the .3ds file format, though. i believe youd have to texture and animate it in gmax using that method though.
