New version of Equity 8RF
New version of Equity 8RF

UPDATE 2017-10-02
A small video of animating a mesh without a skeleton (just rotating and moving)

UPDATE 2017-09-13
New update of Equity 8RF
Import for the True Space format .cob has been added.
In the Frame Manager a drop down menu has been added next to the slider, giving an alternative way to pick joints.
An other useful feature I forget to mention earlier is the possibility to save the progress of a motion while working on it. In case of a crash it is always nice if you have saved most of your work and don't have to start over from scratch.

UPDATE 2017-09-10
New update of Equity 8RF
Insert and Remove keyframes within a motion has been improved.
Copy and Paste a keyframe has been added. This will make animating easier, not least when making a looping animation.
The Sequencer (the function for joining motions) has been improved.
Creating and editing motions for an actor (.act-file) with Equity 8RF should now work quit well and should an easy-to-use way of adding and/or editing motions.
As previously a ms3d-model with a skeleton can be imported and built as an actor. If it has an animation that can be imported too.
A number of different formats can be imported and built as a static mesh actor;
obj, 3ds, dae, b3d, md5mesh and x.
Feedback and suggestions are appreciated.

I have joined the development team as sound-board and tester. Terry is still doing the actual work.
The work is ongoing, but the present working version (equity_8X.exe) has now been uploaded as the current download version of Equity 8RF.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/equity8rf/
There has been a general updating.
ms3d-models can be important with a motion. From this follows that you can make an animated model in (i.e.) Misfit Model 3D, save as ms3d and import that into Equity and build that as an actor.
mot-files can be added to an actor.
A motion can be copied. This can be useful when making a new motion that mostly is the same as an already existing motion.
The interface for editing motions has been changed to make it easier to make and edit motions in Equity.
Editing the rotation of a joint is now done by using sliders.
Selecting which joint to operate is chosen in the new Frame Manger Window using a slider.
Which Keyframe you are working with is also chosen in the Frame Manger Window using a slider.
In this window you can also add a frame to the end of the motion or delete the last frame in the motion.
Insert Frame and Remove Frame is intended to insert a new frame anywhere in the motion and removing any of the frames in the motion. These functions might just need a little bit more work.
Copy and Paste functions are still something to be added in the future.
Two animations made quite quickly in the latest version of Equity 8RF.

There is still a lot to do, but I think that what we already have is a quite useful tool when making RF-actors.

Re: New version of Equity 8RF
great news. Will play with it when i get a chance. Will be nice to export from fragmotion as a ms3d file. Animations look good grok.
Re: New version of Equity 8RF
Gave the motion editor a quick try and i like it. The copy and paste function is a must to make a clean loopable motion. Great job here guys. Keep it up!
Re: New version of Equity 8RF
interesting! will have to give it a go .
Re: New version of Equity 8RF
A new update is now available. See additions in the original post.
Re: New version of Equity 8RF
Working great! Glad to have the copy and paste frames for loopable motions. This is a huge boost for getting media into RF.
For selfish reasons i would like to see the .cob import in the 8x version. My only suggestion would be to have a drop down menu for bone selection. Would be faster.

Thank you.
On the bone selection, I was initially doubtful if a slider was the best way to do it. After having used it for awhile I have completely turned around on that issue. Now I wouldn't to have it any other way.
The way I set it up, I put the Frame Manager above the viewport, and I open up the bones folder in the window to the left of the viewport.
This way I can have the overview of the tree and can use the slider to move to the correct joint.
You might like to try this setup. Works very nicely for me. (off course there are always personal preferences).
We will see when Terry get to the 'true space'-format.
Re: New version of Equity 8RF
Will give your lay out a try. Terry has the .cob format in the 10 version already.
Re: New version of Equity 8RF
Terry has now added the cob-format and also added a drop down menu. It is now available in the latest downloadeable version.seppgirty wrote:Will give your lay out a try. Terry has the .cob format in the 10 version already.

Re: New version of Equity 8RF
Gave a super fast test. The .cob import is fine. Really appreciate the bone drop down menu. Thanks for breathing new life into this.
