How many polys

How many polys should I have as a maximum at one charactair?

it really depends on how many you will have onscreen at the same time, how much detail is in your level, what your target audience is, etc.

if you were to give that kind of information, i could give a better estimate. without that, id aim for 1,000 - 1,500 polygons per character, maybe a bit less for enemies.
