yep, exactly why i'm not a programmer. 1. Microsoft is too cheap to make their stuff backwards compatible, 2. Windows Mellenium Edition sucks!

I can't wait till the we port rf over to something like dev-cpp, which is free and compatible with almost all versions of windows.

I hear ya. I finally bought a computer with XP but I noticed it runs on a AMD Sempron, which I later found out is not compatible with RF. So I'm still stuck with ME.

How do you know it's the Sempron and not something else?

Reality Factory should work fine with an AMD sempron
unless you have onboard video.

You may need to buy a new video card.

An AMD sempron is basiclly a replacement for an
AMD Duron which is on my older PC.

my specs are.......

AMD Duron 1ghz
512mb pc 100 sdram
pny gf4 mx440 agp
windows xp pro sp2

Reality Factory works good for me except for the
avanced shadeing and bumpmapping features
i think you need an fx card for this.

Just a curiosity question. Have work to make RF1 compile under Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition stop (as put in the too hard basket or now just continuing on with RF2)?

Welcome to the forums.

Actually if you will look in the programming section you will see that we have source code that will soon be released that will compile under Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition.
