I'm looking at Blender for the Ogre engine,

http://www.dfworkshop.net

The 'Dungeon Hack', try it, it's pretty cool, a community-type
project.

Blender 5 years ago was awful, but now it looks doable,
I think you have to retexture all the Wings3d or Max meshes.

http://www.centralsource.com/blender/bvh/files.htm

Even loads .bvh files (it says)

I got a .bvh file imported into blender, can't seem to hang it on
a default skeleton though, it always loads on it's own skeleton.

model is
cubeblenderogre.zip 34K
An animated cube in Ogre engine

Blender ain't bad, RF exporters would help RF,

even better, move RF to Ogre?

52MB, The latest build of Dungeon Hack, has a dungeon and
an inn. It's hard to find the Inn, look around when you're falling from the sky at the beginning.

Space bar enters doors, except the inn door to upstairs needs to
be smacked with the sword.

All the relevant blend files are at

Daggerfall current media

I've had some success with Blender, I got one of my meshes
into Ogre format animating, just as a proof-of-concept,
also a dungeon (the spacestation). Still haven't put anything
in Dungeon Hack.

I have my first level, you might want to be sitting down when you
view it.

Top pic is a cave I made using a bezier curve and a nurbs
circle of 12 sides or so, that was fast. Probably not too hard to
extrude side tunnels, Blender has a 'Knife command, you can
cut edges, extrude faces. Caves have to be hand tweaked so
they don't look like sewer pipes.

bottom pic is part of a prefab set,
a 90 degree elbow, had to do a lot of vertex tweaking of 2 6 sided cubes.

Moving right along, here's how to make a set of prefabs
in Blender for Dungeon Hack. Nothing spectacular, just
the basic building blocks.

Updated

This game looks good, I only have to spend about $100 more
dollars (256MB video card) and I can run it..

Imageshack is easy to upload pics to and it's easy to look at them too. I think it's pretty hard to first find your picturem, then waiting a couple of minutes before I can download it and find out that I can't use download manager so I have to wait a couple of minutes again.
