I had to buy a GeForce 6600 to run this game, it's the prettiest I've ever seen.

Pay for user made mods?

I guess my paranoia came to fruition then. I got my entire game dev start modding for Morrowind. Yet I was always paranoid by that little liscense agreement that said anything created for it effectively became their property.

Then again it's what made the game so popular and last so long. There were user made mods for everything including entire new worlds. Basically everything people would have griped at the modertors for were modded in by players.

Every little shortcoming in the game was filled by the modders. From mounts, pack animals, much needed shops in towns, etc.

I hadn't heard that they were charging for user made mods though. Seems like it would be hard for them to do so. But I guess anything is possible.

However the graphics look so good this time around I doubt anyone will be doing too much modding at that level.

Check out http://www.somethingawful.com they have a list of hilarious mods, some not fit for a family forum. I don't know what Voltare's talking about paying for mods, if the money went to the modders that would at least be fair.

for all oblivion players out there check out gamespots make oblivion prettier mod, it includes LOD replacement textures (the default one's are so god damn awfull), the natural environment mod there is actually natural environment 2.0 now which is boat loads better again includes wildlife like birds and insects....

also open you oblivion.ini and change the fMaxTime=0.060 to fMaxTime=0.061 or something, i dont know the actuall variable value but you increase it by 0.001 anyways and it make a mountain of difference

this game is AWSOME i wish i have never picked it up now it consumes most of my free time.

also it has a good set of modding tools as well i've dabbled a bit but it's a bit hard to get the hang of but very power full
