Heck, the only chainsaw models I can find cost like, 45 bucks or more. No one has a freebies out there. I'll poke around some more.

Thanks. I found one for $25 but I'm trying not to waste any money (it's even more in $AU).

Well I made a quick one up in trueSpace 3.2 just now. Took me less than an hour with distractions. I thought it would be a good challenge for me to see how fast I could make a good low polygon chainsaw. The total polygon count is 248 triangles. Its a direct x file. No texture applied. It is currently cube UV mapped but I couldnt get it(the uv map) to look right, in gameSpace Light. The rotaion might be screwed up because it was made in trueSpace/gameSpace. I hope this is what you need! 8)

Edit: I am sorry if it is blocky in some areas, I was trying to complete it too fast and forgot to smooth out the edges. If you would like I can upload the untriangulated file I have saved on my computer if you wish to mod it.

You have my full permission! I do not mind if you try to make one as well and no offense taken. I probably put a total of twenty minutes into my chainsaw. If yours is better than mine, very well done! I just thought I would give it a shot. It was mostly a small "project" to see if I could even make a chainsaw without much time and tweaking.

Also, thank you for telling me that you want to make one as well. Its good communication like that, that keeps us on eachothers good sides. :D

*I dont know if you are reading my game thread (in general discussions) but I really used the attempt as a distraction from working on my game. I surf these forums and side track myself since I am currently in a ruff spot on development. I should get back to working on my game now. :P

Good luck with your chainsaw!

Thanks! If I could just be able to UV map objects I would have been able to texture my chainsaw too! However, since I already have gone out of my way and made it I should really get back to making stuff for my game instead. I am sorry I cannot help any furthur. I have to start school again late this August so I need to focus on my project and get as much as possible done before then!

As I have stated before, I can upload the basic nontriangulated mesh if anyone wants that to modify. If anyone does want it just let me know what file type you want it in. I will try my best to convert it and get it here asap.

Whoa, thanks a lot guys, especially you MoG, you didn't have to do that! I'll probably use the other models, but I might give yours a look. It's nice to know a gave you something to do for twenty minutes. I can't wait to get home (at school right now) and use them all. I probably won't be on for a while, I'm going on holidays for a week.

Thanks a lot everybody! :D
