AndyCR wrote:Thanks! I can't use RakNet for networking because:

It's not free/open source software (yes you can see the source code, but it violates other parts of the definitions)
It requires payment for commercial use, so if someone wanted to make a commercial game with RF2 they would be stuck with a $100 bill
True, but if they really do make a commercial game i'd think they can afford 100$ for raknet. ;)

Anyways, Can't wait (but will have to XD) for RF2 cuz irrlicht is one of the best graphic engines and that was all that RF was missing. :)

I actually think you have a point there but, I think its best to keep the RF package Completely 'free' I like it that way! Oh and Yeah i cant w8 for RF2!!!! :D But isnt there a good free networking program?? Cause if we had that then well RF2 would be EVERYBODYS dream come true...

Oh and good to see Steven8 again thawt youd left for good!

Actually there are couple of network libraries that are free, for instance hawknl the network library realityfactory uses. There's nothing wrong with it besides the fact that its not very well documented. But for an experienced programmer it should be a piece of cake to figure out.

It would still be 100% free, you'll just need 100$ if you sell your game. (games usualy make more then 100$ ;) ) but anyways still early for multiplayer 'Plans'.

Keep up the good work!

Im sure andy would be able to program a multiplayer system from scratch.

ive got a online server network wich is running 24/7 so anyone can use it if they want. why spend money on server/multiplayer sytems when you have a free one right here.

Very nice work!!! That screen looks awesome! *My graphics card is too old to make the demo work. A TNT2 just doesnt get the job done :P .

Again, nice job!

Great job with the RF! I can't wait to see RF2. Hope you are still working with that project. Will there be a newer demo available soon? Does RF2 feature a full physics engine?

I didn't make RF, but I'm sure QOD and the other people who did would be glad to hear your comment. :)
Augusti wrote:I can't wait to see RF2. Hope you are still working with that project.
Yes, I am, and there have been massive improvements recently.
Augusti wrote:Will there be a newer demo available soon?
No guarantees, but that is what I'm hoping.
Augusti wrote:Does RF2 feature a full physics engine?
Not yet. I plan to integrate ODE at some point, but I doubt it will be for awhile yet.

No problem. I'm looking forward to test out RF2 in a few years! :) So good luck with it!

Andy, could you please post an Alpha release of a recompiled RF2 Binary this Christmas? A copy of RF2 that doesn't need to be compiled would make my day, and you should have something at least operational by then...

Next Christmas, you can do it again, except it will be a Beta! By then I bet you can have RF2 usable...

I have no doubts that RF2 will be finished by 2010, so keep coding!

P.S. Anyone want to post a new screenshot for me?
