I would possibly play the demo, although i have no idea if i would lag or not with my measly 2MBps connection.

u would start to lag when on dial up 52kbps (when in actual fact its onlt 4-5kbps) i have 2mb and i never lag badly, it depends on your actual speed and internet provider as they, like mine, have a package sniffer that reads the contents of each package and prioratise web page (html/http) over others like ftp used on p2p networks or games

Ah.would it be a problem that im down in New Zealand?

dont know, i dont think it matters in location, but the cheaper providers will do this, like here in the uk i have 2mb for £12 a month (tiscali) while you can pay £22 a month for the same speed from (BT, british telecom) and for that price i would expect there to be no problems at all...

Actually location matters quite a lot. I hardly ever play shooters (in my case, that is CS and sometimes CS:S and UT2004) on other than Finnish servers, since on foreign servers the latency is just too high with my 8Mbps connection. Usually the servers have a latency limit and kick me out.

I'm playing all the games with nick Juutis, which is also my Steam account name. Feel free to add me to your friends, guys. :)

it does matter in relative global position to each other, how ever what i ment was it dont matter too much in loaction within your country, if you live in australia and play against australia then there wont be any problem but if your playing agains the uk then you will get latency as it takes over a second to reach the other side of the world, but sometimes its not so bad, saying that i dont think i played against any austrailians so cant say for sure.

I use 1.5Mb internet with it just fine. The only game that lags is the Q4 demo (and their netcode stinks).
