Hi Andy
I got your tutorial working I used the cut brush and got to my second room via a door and it all works great
My rooms are quite large and go beyond the editors borders I cant see all of my 2 rooms in the top. view and if I add more and more rooms I wont be able to see them as I cant scroll around in the side top and front views or can I?....

I forgot to add I can zoom in and out to see all but when I zoom back in it focuses on the first room I made is it possible to make the focus on the new added rooms?

I appreciate you taking the time to answer my beginner questions I hope them people viewing are excited newcomers and not bored experts thinking because the post is 3 pages long there might be something of importance
Hope some new user adds to this post if they are confused or start a new post so we can move there
andy seems to be handling things well ;}

seems to have most of the issues solved so far.
most of the old-timers around the forum are either extremely busy or reading the other threads.
this general discussions thread is more about non-rf related things - in the future you should post in the level design thread about things relating to level design etc
this particular forum may not be read regularly by people using & developing with rf.
just thought i'd point that out.

Hi gekido
Thanks for the advice. I will ask questions there In my first post I wasnt really sure where to post but got answers here so I just kept asking and replying to my questions
But Now I know to try level design
allthough that part of the forum looked more advanced when I first tried R/F and being a beginer i didnt want to ask basic stuff there and be a hinderance in case my questions have been asnwered a million times before
Thanks gekido and Andy for getting me this far

I usually post the faq link and wait for the noobs to read it,
all your questions are answered there. If they don't read it, they
can't be helped.

not to in any way poke fun at you hike, i respect you, but this is the third time youve posted that in this topic
maybe im too afraid we'll lose people because it looks complicated at first. add to that the fact every rf version has its own.... hmm...
setup peculiarities... 072 it was looooong loading times due to the huge amount of resources and them being packed into a vfs file, this version its guys on their guts unless you modify rotation settings, which makes an error where the camera flickers until you press one of the f keys (f1, f2, f3) (dont worry, it wont be an issue if you add your own player model, to those out there reading). just little things that are easy to solve for those who "know rf", but can be almost dealbreakers for those who dont.
maybe we need a link to the faq in our signatures... but then itd be like stickies, they never get read...
by the way, if you made the faq, i am very very impressed... very very useful...!

I agree with Andy .....the tutorials dont work unless you have the same version and files as the author who wrote the tutorial
An example I think Andy was pulling his hair out and and so was I was a file xanibot3.act that I didnt even have......I eventualy found it in another version
I have learnt more by this post than by reading any tutorial ....but now I can go back to the tutorials and they all make sence

You wrote the faq, I just copy/paste entries from the forum, 90 percent of the time I have no idea what they're talking about.
072 has been 14MB for months, no excuse there, and the lying on the floor thing has been a bug off/on for 2 years, I'll put it in the faq.
the tutorials dont work unless you have the same version and files as the author who wrote the tutorial .
They all work if you've read the FAQ on where to point your directories. RF is complicated, most people give up after 2 weeks, their loss.

Well I am not giving up
They did not work at all reading the FAQ it has nothing to do with point your directories it has to do with missing files

i meant since now virgil is the default player actor for this release, and most newbies dont know how to cange that at first, they might be confused. however, i agree that they really should read more on rf.
no need to get hostile guys... guest, whoever you are...
