Well, that gets into computer forensics, but depending on how the file is produced it could possibly contain data that identifies its creator program but is never seen or heard in the file. In reality most things are untraceable in this manner as files are generally only written as plain old files. However, you should never misuse software or break copyrights! Besides, for most things, there are open source projects out there that do what you need and are completely free.
*Ok, I'm done plugging for proper software use now. lol

Yeah, I've noticed that if you take a picture with your digital camera that shoots in .jpg, and then transfer it to your computer, you can right-click on it and hit "properties", then go to the "summary" tab... it shows you a LOT.

Well, everything you make falls automaticly under the creative copyright law. Still, people tend to steal everything they like so some discretion is always good during development. I never release all my idea's or content.

Actually there is a program that you can download that will analyze a picture even further, it will tell you everything from shutter speed to camera make model, camera firmware version and on and on so forth.
But there is definitely ways to identify your stuff. I just stumbled across
this website and thought someone might find it interesting or useful.

If I remember correctly, even newer cameras are coming out with a type of GPS device installed so the camera even knows WHERE the picture was taken
. I am pretty sure thats what my computer forensics professor said.

It has to do with FL Studio in that you can indeed be found if you misuse software. The chances are slim, but possible. It all goes back to the license of the free FL Studio and if you could use files made with it for commercial applications. Yeah, it went off-topic from there.

It may be copyrighted, but in fact a copyright is only useful when enforced. Meaning that, you need to track down the pirates or have people kind enough to notify you of the pirates so you can take legal action upon them for your copyright to be worth anything.
Also, I am not sure what you mean by register copyright, here in the United States a copyright does not have to be registered and is effective immediately as the author declares it to be copyrighted.
Rip off artists!
I went to lansing (state capital) and had that all registered with the government for a fee of $100
And I realize that. I copyrighted it so people wouldn't use my specific ideas
