That's really nice!
A couple things -
Is the framerate that bad in the game, or is that just your video compression?
You may have already noticed this, but when the rifle firing animation plays, you can see the unfaced (is that the right word?) pieces of your hudgun model.
I really love your sniper rifle sound effect though... lots of body to it.

i hope its just the compression.
the barrett m107 rifle in the laptop version is not properly alighned. also the builtin recoil feature tends to cause that.
thanks for watching it!

ive been up all night working the kinks out of my main charector.
My animations arent all right and some of my charectors skeletons don't quite match up. All the animations work in the act viewer but when i try to test the level with my new player, some of the basic animations like Run don't work. it says there missing, but they even work in the editor.
I am afraid that I am going to need to revamp my whole game and start over from scratch.
Waht do you guys think?
Sure I could reuse some of the stuff but then again, some of this stuff really just dosen't work right.
My Big problems are being caused by developing things out of order.
What I really need is to redo my entire game with High functioning skeletons on all carectors and at the same time redo ALL the animations.
I seriously have spent years on this project and mostly on animation.
I need new resources and tools.
In high school I always had free acess to photoshop and I find this gimp program to be very combersome and difficult to learn.
I've been learning as i go and some of my resources i've been sticking with are almost no longer compatible.
I want to update to more flexible skeletonsfor my charectors, with individual fingers (eyes, lids, feet, expression parts... ect) and bones for the weapons and such. This will make my game look and feel much better.
I want to use the new skeletons to create more fluid and interactive charectors and more a fully functional scripted player.
I also want to redo my levels in a better program that will make them look better and run faster. like milkshape. (although i have never done this and it is unlikley that i will have much success. (the program i want to use is autodesk inventor which is a 3d solid modeling program for prototyping machine parts in but i was trained to use it and have had much success in doing so, but its much more than i can afford))
and the textures, my god.
Its all so much, I am 1 person. And i wan't to see some progress.
I really need to learn how to use some of thse tools properly.
What do you guys think.
Revamp the entire project and spent another year or two with nothing to show for it untill i have a finished project, or release some demos of what i have now?

Check the spellings in the script against the spelling in your actor. Run and run are two different things.some of the basic animations like Run don't work
Only a suggestion, but this has caused me problems in the past.
Could be caused by scale of actor not being quite the same as scale of weapon. It's worth checking outmy charectors skeletons don't quite match up
Hope this helps.

SO LITTLE TIME. damn. I did let this project fly under the radar too long.
I worked obsessivly at learing how to use rf and trying my hand at a few games all throught high school. that was 5 years ago.
I didn't get an account till after a few years of using it.
some of my resources are just so old though, there just ugly.
Some of the textures in the first few levels are from the origional doom.
It's almost funny.
Did you seriously think that i did all that so fast. It's been like pulling teeth, trying to push through some of the problemI've encountered on my own.
extreamly time consuming.
I should ask if anyone here want's to work on this project with me.
That probably won't get me very far though.
oh well.
thanks for the suggestion,
i will check it out.

I don't mean to be negative, but I've tried GimpShop and it's pretty much Gimp with a grey background. Not a whole lot of changes. Plus, it's an independent project and I don't think they've updated for the new version of Gimp.zany_001 wrote:i was wondering how u did so much in so little time !I seriously have spent years on this project and mostly on animation.
gimpshop is a useful v of gimp.it copys photoshops interface, so might be good forf u
EDIT: Also, last time I tried GimpShop, it still hadn't changed my #1 gripe with Gimp - the fact that all the gimp dialog boxes (read: every column, including the layers palette and the tools box) are each a separate Windows window, and thus will disappear behind whatever Gimp window you clicked on last.
