bounding box

Is there a way to "press" the bounding box of an actor against the body, thus simulating vertex level colision detection?

You mean like "shirnk wrap" the characters bounding box? No that is not possible. However, I think some entites in RF already do have the ability to have per polygon collision detection. I can't remember which though.
