IRC channel?

I remember someone mentioning something about creating a chat for RF users. People could discuss problems there in real time.

So I got this idea... we could create our own IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channel. It would be so goshdarn easy to help the new users, no need to post long tutorials, just tell everything step by step while they can ask anything at any time. Also replying to questions would be a lot faster.

What do you guys think?

I've never done IRC before, but it sounds like a good idea to me.

Do you need special software for that?

Yeah, you need an IRC client program.
There are dozens of these out there, here's two that I have used:
mIRC: http://www.mirc.com/
XChat: http://www.xchat.org/

First you'll need to connect to a IRC network (I'm using 'QuakeNet') and then you can join channels and chat with people.

I created a channel called '#RealityFactory' in QuakeNet.

I suggest we use TeamSpeak or Skype, I would be cool to talk with microphones

Or Ventrilo. Then we could take or type, both with an easier interface than the two you mentioned, whichever we felt like.

Does Ventrilo support web cam? It would be cool to know how you guys look :) I just downloaded it. I'm new so maybe you could create server?

I'm in for Ventrilo. I've never used it though...
I have a microphone too but I'm afraid my pronounciation sucks so bad you wouldn't understand a word I say. So I'll stick to typing. :D
