Milkshape3d texture export problems

Post by Jay »

I am confused because milkshape3d doesn't seem to export my textures.
It has worked before so i don't know why it doesn' work this time.

I have all in all 6 textures.
Everyone can see the difficult, but only the wise can see the simple.

Yeah Milkshape seems to have a problem with directory paths. I've had to deal with this problem many times. Just make sure your textures are in the same folder with the .ms3d file, restart Milkshape and export again. That has worked for me.

***EDIT***
Oh, and I believe Milkshape can't export images with transparency... like .tga.
Pain is only psychological.

Are you exporting a bdy for actor creation? Make sure you have the textures in the folder that astudio is in, export the bdy to that folder, select your bdy from astudio, and cut and paste the path to that folder into the path for textures in astudio. Using that method, I haven't failed yet.

i had exactly the same problem last night took me about 45 min to sort this out, as juutis stated save your .ms3d file in the same location as your textures close and re-open your model then export the .bdy to this location aswel this should keep the textures perfectly.

That is true. Before I make a model, I save the textures to both the MS3D folder and the tools folder under RF. That way I feel I'm covered.

Glad you got it work!!
