Semi-New to 3D Modelling :C

Don't think I'm too lost here, :o but I have some questions.

Okay, I'm using Art of Illusion (a free 3d modeling program similar
to Milkshape but in Java) to model and save as object .obj.
(that's all it saves as other than .aoi files by the way.)
Then I'm importing the obj into trueSpace to convert it to a cob,
then using trueGene to make it an actor file. (I use a scale of 7.65
when making it to catch the difference between AoI and Genesis3d)

Okay. Anything I'm doing wrong at the moment?

I then open the act file in Actor Viewer and see the actor the right size
but with no texture. Just plain white.

What has happened to it's texture?
Am I doing alright so far?

I've never used that many converters before, so I don't know how helpful i'll be. But, I know that the .obj format uses an additional file called .mtl to store the texture/material data. If you can't find this file then that's probably where the issue lies.

Check every step along the way to find exactly where you lose the texture. Do you see the texture in truespace, or do you lose it before then?

I don't know if the answer has been found yet but trueGene needs you to select an objects default texture bitmap. If you forgot to do that part that could be the reason the actor is untextured.
