Absoulutely RF, 3d game studio is just money-making in my opinion...it may be good, but it is still money-making.

If you want to have the better features like shaders you have to pay 200€ for the 'commercial' version, but if you really want something 'commercial' you will have to buy the proffesional version which costs 900€, i don't know how much $ this are but i think at least 1100$. That's a lot of money!

If i had that money, i would better invest it in TreeMagik(50€)+PlantLife(50€)+TextureMaker(75€)+Milkshape3d(25€). That's 200€ just like the 'commercial' version. But the difference is, combined with RF i have far more from it.

I suppose you mean the 3d game studio? directx 9 renderer. That's everything i think. That renderer is faster (i suppose) than RFs renderer, but it gets you nothing really spectacular if you cannot use shaders - so you have to buy the commercial version. If you want to do something good with 3dgs you have to at least buy the 'commercial' version.

C'mon Black Phoenix, 3D game maker?!?!? (I got in trouble last time I spoke about them so ill be nice) Its just a toy you cant really do much with it and it doesnt work on lots of systems I hadly take it seriously... Some of this may have been fixed since i last used it whitch was a while ago, but back then, it was junk...

3dgs or rf

Post by BYS »

RF! I bought 3dgs some time ago and played around, but the main problem is: You can´t customize the Engine. There is only a Scripting language simmilar to c#. With this thing you only can script game events or something like slowmotion, some cam stuff, menus etc. RF is much better and FREE! :D
I hope I dont make too many mistakes in my posts...

hahaha. the power of sarcasim is unbelievable. good to see what u guys think about 3DGM. I never actually used it as i thought the "low poly graphics" were absoulutely rubbish.

between 3dgs and rf i think rf is more of a "compatible" engine/tool.
with 3dgs there was 1 program 1 engine setting and 1 way to do everything.

rf can allow me to create levels in a range of programs and of course its very customizable. though the graphics arent mindblowing it still proves as a great tool for begginers and intermediate game makers.

indeed it can be powerful but pointless over the internet when 90% of the time it dont come through.
sarcasim is recognised mainly by the tone in the voice and the speed at wich it is given wich neither can be done on the net easily.
