You mean you took something from other games. That's called stealing then :x

Even if I knew how to import that format if you took them from another game, I couldn't tell you. Which I have never heard of that file format before. What's the point of designing your own game if you steal all the models from another game? :?

I always stealed content from games. And I think that no, it isn't illegal to steal the content. Istead it's highly illegal to redistribute the contents of a commercial game or, worse, to use them in another commercial project. Anyway for developping purpouses or for amateur development I think you can enjoy the art of "hack and rip" a millionaire commercial game...

Well, in my humble opinion; teaming up with other skilled people or expanding your own skills is the way to do it. Don't steal, but make the content to perfectly fit your game is best I think.

It's a great way to see how something was done.

For instance, the NIFTOOLS that one can use to view Morrowind models with has helped me immensely in seeing how to animate a wing.

But , as for stealing to use in a commercial game....no.If it's not a royalty free liscense, i ain't usin it.
