I know I am walking in a mine field by asking this question LOL but... GTK Radaint also uses the .map file format. Can it be used instead of the level editor that comes with Reality factor?

For building your level geometry, yes. For placing entities, no.

What about Texturing?

RFEDITPRO's texturing process is easier than gtk radient's.If you're good with gtk radient, make your models in it, place no entities or functions, just the model itself, save it as .map, import into rfeditpro and texture it there.
i have taken a couple of stairs models built with gtk radient right straight into rfeditpro, entities functions and all ----but the functions and entities won't work in rf.
plus rf comes with a texture image processor tool, that will allow you to fiddle with the textures a bit.

this is absolutely right. in fact, this is the only way i will work with RF now. GTKRadiant just lets you do so much more with so much less of a headache!
BTW, welcome back Voltare, i haven't seen you around in forever!
