Does anyone know of a terrain modeler that can also texture the land in question (kind of like an Age of empires map editor or whatever) so that there's no seams or anything in between the different types of terrain? I prefer freeware if anyone knows of anything like this.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I would like something similar to the map editor that comes with the Age of Empires and Empire Earth games...

if you use nems terrain generator it has the ability to export to bitmap, which you then can paint yourself by hand sortuv a uv layout, also, now im not entirely sure about this i think it can render a texture, which you can lay over top of your model.

nems is a bsp based terrain generator, so if your after .3ds you may be out of luck, i think it may export to .obj's though which are importable to milkshape, currently im at work, I'll need to check when i get home to clarify,

Thanks, I'll see what I can do with it...maybe I can use Paint Shop Pro to get the desired terrain types on my map...would it be better as a StaticMesh or as level geometry when it is done?

And do you know of any time hardware T&L will be available to us? Because my game runs slower than the ever more complicated Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War!
