House of shadows question...per poly collision?

Post by NolanK »

I noticed that when i played House of shadows, there seemed to be some per poly collison with virgil and some of the other entities. Specifically, it was virgil colliding with the the sofa and recliner in the living room area. I never knew RF had per poly collision! At least, Im pretty sure it was per poly collision because when i turned on the bounding boxes for the player and entities, i could tell that they werent doing anything because virgil would jump on the couch and he would move up and down depending on the dips in the couch.

Could someone tell me if RF really does have per poly collision, because maybe im just imagining things. If it does have per poly collision, could you tell me which entities i need to use to have it? Because i remember a long time ago someone (i think it was pickles or wxb1) talking about per poly collision with static meshes or something. Im also pretty sure that not everything has per poly collision so it would be nice to know which entities have what kind of collision.

Could someone also tell me specifically what rf is capable of collision detection wise? Because maybe im wrong and there isnt any per poly collision at all, lol.

i know statis meshes do... but staticentityproxy's dont, and considering they have stencil shadows, that's what they must have been... s i dont know how he did it... but yes, static meshes can have oer-poly collision depending on ColCheckLevel (i believe 2 is per-poly)

I've used clip brushes there, the staticentityproxy entities have the NoCollision flag set to true
