choose freehostia.com
- instant access
- php+mysql
- lot of MB's
- pre-installed CMS (Xoops, php-nuke....)
- no ads at all!

you still have to pay the site up front 9.95 USD

Free webs stinks. Its all the same. Freehostia sounds cool and the search engine sounds like a great answer. Thanks a bunch.

chek out your internet service provider, sometimes they give you free webspace and bandwidth with your acount, with mine i get 100mb space and 250mb bandwidth limit per day, i hate the address but you could get a cheap web address and re-direct making it easier to find your page, but its free with my internet so im not complaining, it can be hard to find out at times but worth a check to see if you have.

The problem with free website hosting is that you run into problems sooner or later and this can get really frustrating. Either the hosting provider forces an insane amount of ads on your site, sets a filesize limit of a few KB, deletes your site for no reason, is down 50% of the time or just disappears. Believe me, I've been through it all.
So my advice is to go for a cheap paid solution if you're really serious about your website and can afford it somehow.

i dont know if you would class mine as free but i dont have adds, supports ftp, has never been down and resonable download speed and have never had it deleted, its really good in my opinion, i know sites like yahoo remove your site if its in active for so many days, but i have had no problem with mine, i do everything in microsoft frontpsgr and ftp the whole thing to m web space.

I was never able to reach my site after I registered at phpnet.us. Additionally with their registration process it is possible to register the same name several times, probably deleting previous registrations. It's possible that they've sorted thesa issues since I last tried it but I doubt it...

They do have some pretty strange usernames for accessing the cpanel, ftp and mysql: pn_somenumber. I've created a couple of webpages for people using it and haven't had a problem so far. Maybe they fixed it.

The best is 110mb.com for hosting and try http://www.co.nr for a free domain name. This is what I use.

I tried co.nr the other day it seems they are no longer offering domains, says something like the service is down. Or something to that sort.
