Another one of my research threads, this time going for the mother of all game development questions. So just as the thread title asks:
What would the perfect videogame be like?
I would like to keep this serious, so please don't get too off topic .
*Feel free to post long responses, the more descriptive the better!*
For me it would be:
*[EDIT: 10:05 PM GMT]Updated!
For me, all I can do is list what elements would be present. If a game had these, it would be perfect.
The elements of the perfect videogame would be:
1 A large variety of weapons
2 Power ups!
3 Indepth movement options / abilities
4 Have weapon and hand to hand combat
5 Puzzel elements
6 Platforming
7 Lots of Action
8 Let me choose what to do
9 Make me do certain things, I don't want to choose what to do all the time
10 Customize stuff, but not so much I couldn't have others hop in and play with me in a multiplayer game
11 very intuitive controls
12 traditional gameplay ideals such as health packs, and finding stuff in crates
13 Fully interactive environment, includes movement, destructibility, and it acting on its own such as dynamic weather
14 To be rewarded for playing, unlockables, and other new things(remixed levels?)
15 An easy but highly in depth map editor that doesn't require me to know what a polygon is
16 cooperative story mode
17 Multiplayer!
18 Exploration
19 Adventure
20 Awesome sound FX
21 Stylized graphics, any kind of graphics that enhance the feel and fun factor
22 More than just multiplayer replay value
23 Non-linear levels!
24 No levels actually, free-roaming is the way to go!
25 Objective based goals
26 Some arcade elements well placed so its simply fun to do something
27 Truly intelligent AI, able to use tactics and traverse the game as you do
28 Adjustable AI, adjusts their ability's to your skill
29 Human like enemies, no more of the computer loosing and all of a sudden becoming ultra difficult or powerful
30 A story that can make sense of all these elements being present in one place that is truly interesting and exciting.
There's my list, I might add or change things if I change my mind, but its a pretty solid layout of what I would like to see in one game. So, what would be in your perfect game?
