I too have the demo and hope to purchase the game soon.
The game runs smooth at medium settings on my computer with only a few hiccups.
My System:
Core 2 Duo @ 2.13 Ghz (E6420)
2GB DDR2 667Mhz ram
GeForce 8600GT 256MB(Overclocked from the factory)
SoundBlaster Audigy SE
Windows Vista Ultimate - 64bit
I wish I could play it on High or Ultra High settings which make the game look like a movie from the screen shots I have seen. My PC gets a horrendous frame rate above medium settings. Direct X10 features aren't very appearant at face value but are great little details once you notice them. I like to take guns and shoot trees and watch them break apart exactly where I shot them. Also having the foliage react to objects is pretty cool. As you move through the brush the branches bend around you!
I only have one gripe about the demo. The player dies way to easily. I have shot the enemies many times in a row in the head and they don't die or I unload a clip of ammo into them and they don't die. Meanwhile they get like 6 shots on your armor with "maximum armor" on and you die. So much for an awesome amazing nanosuit. Looks like bullet proof vests are the real life savers.

I thought a cool nanosuit would be better than regular protective armor.
I heard that the demo is only supposed to be 45 minutes of gameplay but I have played through it twice each taking about 2 hours. I play around in the environment and have too much fun I suppose. After eliminating enemies in one area I took a metal box and gave myself maximum strength and destroyed all of the shacks and buildings in the area by throwing the box around

. I also took the time to eliminate all enemies instead of dodging around them.
The coolest thing I have done in the demo was in the first enemy infested area by the bay where the com. tower is that you have to destroy. I took all the explosive gas tanks and barrels and placed them next to the com tower. I then drove the nearby hummer next to it as well. I stood back and shot the gas tank on the hummer which then exploded causing everything else to explode! It was a massive fireball!
Another cool moment was I used the tactical attachment to shoot a tranquilizing dart at an enemy on the doc in the bay. He passed out and fell into the water and drowned!
Think outside the box.
To go on an adventure, one must discard the comforts and safety of the known and trusted.
