hey Im working on a firetruck
its about 5000 polys right now

it is still a wip, but its coming along


it needs:
the siren/beacon light
lights
pump controls and valves
wheels/tires
fix the smoothing
uv/texture
front bumper

well I cant edit my post since im a guest ( i think ive registered)

but this is an antique firetruck, or old, not antique, im using a 1972 gmc as a reference

hey, me again, ive been lazy... work, and such.. anyways havent done too much since then, ive gotten the bumper done, the roof, and most of the beacon/siren...

but anyways... I was wondering if someone could help me out here...

i know how to unwrap with lithunwrap... so thats not a problem, but im no good with 2d programs and could use some good links to tutorials... for paintshop pro specifically, i own version 8 and 9. i have ps but dont want to use it because its pirated and id really prefer to learn the software i own.

still needs
mirrors
roof lights
signal lights
wheels
some valves and pump controls
uv/skinned

k, I have the beacon, and siren and roof lights done

now i need some valves and pump levers, signal lights on the front of the cab, mirrors, door handles, a ladder on the passenger side and some wheels

thats a real nice truck Jim!

it has alot of detail, are you going to use this in game or not?
what the current poly count of the truck,

i wish i could model that well........

cant wait to see the final result textured an stuff

its like 5500 polys now... it is almost done mesh wise... and i can unwrap it... but I suck at 2d so hopefully i can figure out psp....

I plan on using it in a game... and i know this is an rf forum, but i dont plan on using it in rf... just hard to find anywhere to get constructive crits... polys are high but im not trying to waste em... i dont want to mention the engine im using... may upset some :oops:

What is it 3D Gamestudio? I doubt anyone would be upset to each their own.

Anyway looking very nice there can't wait to see it textured.

i used to use 3dgs primarily and they didnt tar and feather me, so dont worry. :P
