For the town I used FinalToon renderer in 3dsmax (basically just adds lines and cell shading), and just used the simple cutout filter to turn photoreal textures into cartoony ones.
The watch was such a pain to make because the majority of the metallic look is due to the environment and not the actual material. Having to palce black and white objects just precisely so they reflect well at that particular angle was... ugh !
But truth be told I'm still a noob because I don't know how to make these things in a timely manner. Both of those two you mentioned took days to make (watch was like 40+ hours of work, and the town I don't even want to remember, I had to abandon it and come back to it months later). So when I dabble around with RF I can promise you the quality won't be nearly as good
It'll still be decent tho!

I'm glad you guys like them
But no career for me, just finished my bachelor's in physics and my bachelor's in psych and waiting until this comming fall to start my Ph. D. program in Neuroscience. This is just a hobby, I would kill myself if I had to do this for a living because as fun as it is, i can only do a little bit at a time, maybe one of those projects every 6 months at most.
