Survey for a School Project
Posted: Fri Feb 29, 2008 3:39 pm
Hello All,
Most of you probably don't remember me. I'd be surprised if even any of the old-timer's here remember me by this time.
Anyway, in my enterprise class (high-school), we’re in the process of completing business plans. Part
of this, as you probably guessed, involves issuing a survey.
I decided to centre the business plan around a game design application I’ve been writing. This is pretty much the only other place I could think of to post the survey and get proper results. So as a disclaimer, I'm not here to advertise or try and "steal" RF users. This is the place that got me started, and I wouldn't want to do anything to damage the community . And if QoD or any of the mods (or anyone else, really) don’t wan’t it up here, by all means delete the thread.
The “full detail” description of the app is on the website (http://www.clockworkinnovations.ca/index.php?page_id=10 ). But incase you don’t feel like following links, here’s the short version :p :
Basically, Clockwork is a game design system for Windows (may add support for OS X in the future).
Clockwork’s aim is to provide the user with nearly all the programs and utilities needed for the creation
process in one application (it does not currently plan to include texture, model, or “map editors” [such
as 3D World Studio, Torque Constructor, etc]). It will include a world editor, shader editor, and
OGRE material editor, among others. It’s other major aim, is to require no programming, and unlike
some similar products, require no property script editing to change basic properties, such as light
colours. The editor is WYSIWYG, to give the user an exact idea of what the end-result will look like.
Anyway, I could keep going, but that’s the general idea.
I’d really appreciate it if you could spare a few minutes to fill out. You can repost it here, PM, or email
it. And since it’s for a school project, you’re welcome to comment on the survey itself if you like.
1. How old are you?
2. What is your gender?
3. Have you purchased a product such as ours before (described above)?
4. If “yes”, what one(s)?: Torque - Beyond Virtual - DarkBASIC - Other (please specify)
5. Have you used any similar products that are free of charge?
6. If yes, what one(s)?
7. Would you be interested in purchasing a product such as ours (described above)?
8. What price would you be willing to pay for such a product?: $50-$100 - $100-$150 - $150-$200 -
$200+
9. What is your role/are your roles, in your team/group/organization/company?: Programmer - 3D
Artist - 2D Artist - Sound Artist - Writer - Project Lead - Other (please specify)
10. Would you use a product such as ours as a hobby, or in a commercial venture?
11. Would you have any use for this product beyond its intended/marketed use?
12. Would you like to be notified when the product is ready for testing? When it is finished?
