Reality Factory

Does anyone have a copy of Reality Racer? I wanted to take the game apart, and see what I can use elements of it for. I meant to post this weeks ago.

it needs 071?? 071 isn't up for download, will it work with 072?

what exactly is "thumbs.db"?
when I install RR it says "unable to install because C:\Documents and settings... ...RealityFactory071\media\bitmaps\crosshairs\thumbs.db is an unknown version"

Delete that file. Windows will recreate it. It's the thumbnail cache for the tile view.

thing is, it's not there
no matter what I do the file doesn't exist...

It's hidden. Try opening a command prompt, changing to that directory and type "del /f /q thumbs.db"

Or just go to folder tools->options-> view and tick show hidden files and folders option. Then just delete the file thumbs.db

Ive downloaded all, and I MEAN ALL, rf demos.

NOT ONE WILL WORK ON MY COMPUTER.

the ony demo that will work, sorry the ony two demo's that will work are, the main demo that comes with RF 000000.0000000075B and Bernie's demo that he sent me.

Derek, the only demo I have downloaded that doesn't work for me, is Jays towers of trembolon. Usually if a demo doesn't work at the outset I find if I change the video driver to Opengl the demo then works. For some reason or other Jay's demo won't work with Opengl driver for me and crashes with the dx7 drivers on both my 'puters. I did post at the time but got no response.
In my demo I released it with the driver as Opengl as default, maybe that is why it works for you.
Have you tried changing the driver on the other demos?

all my demo logs come up with only one line

"Searching for fullscreen driver"

Well that indicates it's driver problems. Have you tried running in a lower screen mode or a window? Maybe you haven't enough memory.
