I made a church to put in one of the maps, and I wanted to share it with you. The textures will change when it will be implied to the map. I used one prefab: the tower, since I was running out of time.
So, please some (not to destructive^^) comment. Thanks!

Re: My first Church
Not bad for a first attempt. I have some suggestions, however:
-Churches are always designed as a cross. Right now you have a 'T', i believe.
-Some windows may be nice for atmosphere
Is this going to be a prop or is the player going to go inside of the church?

Everyone can see the difficult, but only the wise can see the simple.

The answers to your suggestions are:
- It's a cross. It just isn't clear from those perspectives. I will add a topview picture later, so you can see it.
- I will add them later. This was just to get the basic shapes.
I don't know for sure yet, but since the tower makes a nice sniping spot, I think I will let players go into the church. I walked around in it, and the only thing is that it might be hard sometimes to go down the stairs in the tower, but I'll fix it. I'll also add some chairs, but I want it to look like a deserted church, so I won't add too much.
Thanks for the feedback!
Re: My first Church
One thing that always looks cool in churches is to make some light shining through the windows.
Just make the light cones brushes in the editor flagged as empty, then texture them.
Three examples:
This one has a standard white bmp texture.
The next one uses the same base texture, but this time as a tga with an alpha channel that makes it fade out. This way it also looks different depending from which side you view it.
This one also uses a base texture that gets darker to intesify the 'fade out'-effect.
My favorite light cone of all time however is this one, from Zelda: Ocarina of Time:
To reproduce this one i believe you need a flow effect on the texture (the texture on the light cone is moving) and a very strong light inside the light cone, maybe a SunLight that shines out of the window, so it also becomes the shape of the window.

Re: My first Church
Wow, thanks alot for helping me! Need some more help on your project? Since it is beginning to look good I would be interested in seeing the result and maybe helping with it.
Re: My first Church
using jays idea, wich is one i am also going to use, i havnt used the brushes in ages, empty maybe good, however using something like the water atribute, changing the colour to white and changing the effect on the player, in effect creating a volume brush that you can walk through
within this add a small particle effect, this adds dust that you would see floating throught the light reflecting at different angles
and finaly, the TGA alpha mask, use photoshops' hair feature (i think its called that) to get a light shaft effect, it will greatly improve the look
another idea is instead of just white have it a multi shade of yellow/gold just a little brighter than your level, as it is jays looks a little over powering at the moment, though thats just my opinion
