Hello all, just letting you know that I am "back" officially from my taking leave I had posted in the temporary sign out sheet thread. Now I say "back" in quotes as it seems that although I am now free from college work as summer break has rolled in, I have found that I still will be making less frequent trips to these forums than I have been in the past.

It seems to me that I have finally got to get down to the meat of my game projects as I have wasted too much time doing nothing in the past. I am still working on my main FPS project however I have also started a second project I wish to work on that is a java based 2d game. With these two projects I must now divide my time between them this summer in hopes to gain progress in at least one. Also I will be devoting my time to learning Adobe software as I have purchased Adobe CS3 Web Premium a little while back and haven't had time to play yet. So this summer hopefully will turn out to be a very productive one. Currently all of my game projects are classified to protect my ideas as they are brought to life. At some point in time all of you will be able to see my project so do not lose hope. I assure you that when I am done it will be worth the wait.

So with this said, I will make appearances here and there but I will be devoting much of my time to advancing my projects.

Just curious is Adobe cs3 web premium pretty much dreamweaver?

Thank you. This first year of college was definitely a new experience.

Web Premium CS3 has all of the programs that I think any of us game makers could want. It has not only Dreamweaver, but also Photoshop Extended, Flash Professional, Illustrator, Fireworks, Acrobat 8 Professional and Contribute. It also comes along with the other programs Bridge, Version Cue, Adobe Device Central, and Acrobat connect. It came also with Adobe Stock Photos but they have discontinued that service this past April.

I was able to order it through my university book store which got me a huge discount. Its regular price is $1599, I got it for $499. I read the EULA through and the only difference between educational version(which is why I got the discount) and the retail version is that you have to be a student to get it. I am free to do whatever I want with whatever I create and the license even allows me to install a second copy of the software on a secondary workstation that I use(for me it will be my laptop) so long as the program isn't being used at the same time on both machines.

Also, I regret to say this but I have discussed the game projects I and my co-developer are working on and it seems that we need to put the 3D FPS on hold for a while. Instead we will be trying to focus on the 2D java game. This was a decision made in our best interests as it is easier for a two man team to make a 2D game than to create the fully featured 3D game that is in store. The FPS is not canceled. We are both eager to make a name for ourselves within the game development field and we feel that this is the easiest way to get there and thus acquire the resources and skills to complete the larger project. With that said, the FPS will only be able to be made better by the development delay by technology continually advancing and thus being able to more accurately express the ideas we have for it. As planned RF2 will be the engine of choice for the FPS, however the features that we wish to use we will not be able to get the game running as planned until extra features will be implemented such as physics and multiplayer. Thus instead of working and waiting for RF2 to come out and dealing with possible conflicts and outdated effects, we will focus on the 2D game at hand in hopes of brining us head first into the industry and better prepared for future works. (Do I sound like a game company representative with this wording? )

I will still be visiting often however I feel that after keeping you guys informed of my game I had to let you know that as of today my original FPS project is being put on hold until further notice. Development of the FPS will be resumed upon completion of the java game. I may even post about the java project as I stick around.
