Extracting Animations From .max

Post by metal_head »

I got an alien model in .max format. It's animated, but all the animations are merged in one animation.I want to extract theese animations into different files and import them in milkshape to convert each animation to .mot file. How can I do that?

You have to load the MAX file into 3DS Max and export to KEY file using the plugins. MAX files are unreadable by anything other than 3DS Max.

You can use Equity. Build an actor from the nfo and key files the decompile the actor usng equity. Equity will save the .mot files then. The plugins for max are on RF's download page.

Well I checked Allanon's posts and it was him but he did it for max 2008. It seems there are no exporters for max 8 or 9 as yet. You're out of luck I'm afraid.
