Modeling Issue: Half the faces.

Post by Mark in 2-D »

Sorry if this is an easy to fix problem but I dont see what I have done wrong. I have made a very simple model for a health bonus, I've made the texture for it, I've applyed the material in milkshape and it looks fine but once I build it into an actor it looks like this: Image what am I doing wrong and how do I fic this?

You need to give it at least 1 bone (joint) And assign all it's vertices to it

In milkshape right click the prespective window and un-tick the draw back faces, if your model looks like it does once you exported there will be your problem, select the faces facing the wrong way and flip them, ctrl+shift+F

Yeah, it does look like your faces are flipped the wrong way. An easy way to tell is to look at the model in flatshaded mode. Any faces that show up black need to be flipped. To avoid this in the first place, make sure you select the vertices in a clockwise order when defining a face.
