Can this be done with reality factory?

I am a little unsure about this question, it may sound a little noob-ish.
Here on World of Genesis

it tells that one may program reality factory in a way that makes it so when the player shoots different textures, different particles fly off. How would this be implemented with reality factory- is it the same method?
