Can you make an actor from non physiqued -skinned mesh

Is there an option in Equity to import a mesh with no bones ,and auto assign all its vertices on export to a bone?
And,if you load just the skeleton bones,can you then import a mesh like a hat and assign the whole object vertices to a bone from the list?
