Darkness is fed by destruction. Which in turn breeds creation. The closer you tread to the light the greater your shadow becomes. It is this natural balance that binds our living universe in constant animation.

An ancient prophecy foretold a tale of a chosen warrior who would lead the oppressed people of Agalon to salvation.

This ancient prophecy did not anticipate this balance, which ultimately led to the fall of Agalon.

One day a certain child was born. On this day creatures emerged from the darkness and began laying waste to all in their path. The people of Agalon saw the child's birth as the summoning of these creatures. Believing the child was a demon the people of Agalon ritualistically banished the child alive to the bowels of Hell. This child fulfilled the prophecy, yet his affinity to the light had engulfed the world in his shadow.

I was watching tv one night (it must have been 1 in the morning), i dont know what i was watching (or what i ate), but this story just came to me out of nowhere. I quickly put it in words and jotted it down on some notecards. For the next couple of months i fiddled around with the concept and tested out some ideas to test the game's feasibility with RF. So far i think all my ideas are possible. I'd really like to hear feedback and fill any holes in the backstory. Fell free to ask any questions (i mean really grill me). I find thats the best way to work out the kinks.

btw. let me know if your understand the backstory...I've read it over so many times I can't positively state whether it even makes sense or not.

you were probably watching Fullmetal Alchemist on Cartoon Network. It is based on a somewhat similar principle of Equivelent Exchange.

I myself am working on a similar idea of the bond between creation and destruction, light and darkness, visible and invisible. But rather than focusing so much on a balance between good and evil my ideas focus very deeply into science and the true nature of the universe(well, in the fiction at least).

It's a good idea, but I'm not quite sure where the game falls into with your story. A little more detail on who the player is and what he's supposed to be doing would be nice.

I seem to have forgot that notecard. Anyway the game is an RPG where you use magic to rid the land of the evils you spawned when you were born seven years ago. Maybe an open ended RPG where you can choose to destroy evil or seek revenge on the city of Agalon for banishing you to hell. My main inspiration for the game's mechanics was Sacred Druid. The idea is about the same but puts more emphasis on defeating enemies and leveling up with an experice and stats system I've began scritping.

Anyone else?
