Some questions (using Gmax)

Yeah I know G max is an out of program, and discontinued but it was free. Anyway I have a tutorial for actor studio that says I can import gmax models yet I can't figure out how to do it. I have a character model, rigged and animated ready.
And now I know better then to use Gmax but for this character model I still want to use it. help please?
