How do you make animations. I know its probably in the manual but it never downloaded for me.
Just wondering because i am trying to make a scripted player and the one im using has no animations.
If anyone could help that would be great!!!!
Thank you.
Animations??????
Re: Animations??????
You can make & add simple animations to an actor in Equity if the actor has a skeleton & is already rigged. Or you can load the actor into Equity and save it as ms3d then make a skeleton, rig the actor & build animations in Milkshape. Then load the new ms3d file back into Equity to re-build the actor.

Re: Animations??????
Does Milkshape have to be used? Are there any Equality tutorials?
Re: Animations??????
Only if there is no skeleton in your actor. You could use max I suppose if you save from Equity as a 3ds file. Build a skeleton and rig it in max then export as .nfo and .key files then reload into Equity and build your actor. But as max costs $3000 and milkshape is only $35 the answer to that is obvious. Blender is a free program BUT it will take a year or 2 to learn and understand its interface and even then you will have to save from equity in either .obj or .3ds then load into Blender make a skeleton rig it & animate it then export from Blender as .mesh/.skeleton files then import those into Equity and build your actor.Does Milkshape have to be used?
There are a few and a small help file included with Equity (See Equity section on this forum). I do intend to write some eventually but I am too tied up with GameDirector at the moment and anyway Equity is very easy to use & virtually self explanitory. Are there any Equality tutorials?

Don't forget gmax!
It's a free program like 3ds max (by the same company), and can be found here: http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax
It takes a bit to get going, but it's worth it. I found it easier to learn than milkshape. Of course, I've been using gmax for 5 years now

Over 3 years (has it been that long?) and just now I noticed the day and month of my birthday were switched. Whoops!
Some 2d games I made, haven't made anything in a year though O.o

Re: Animations??????
I've been using G-max but I never managed to get the exporter keys to work. Do you know how to do this because i was able to make animations in G-max but not save them to the right format.
Re: Animations??????
Make sure you clear the listener window before running the script. Also use YAGG (Yet another gmax grabber) to prevent any goof-ups when transferring to an .key file.
YAGG: http://yagg.doubleshadow.wz.cz/
When you saue it, be sure to add the ".key" file extension, otherwise it won't work.
