How do you make animations. I know its probably in the manual but it never downloaded for me.
Just wondering because i am trying to make a scripted player and the one im using has no animations.
If anyone could help that would be great!!!!

Thank you.

You can make & add simple animations to an actor in Equity if the actor has a skeleton & is already rigged. Or you can load the actor into Equity and save it as ms3d then make a skeleton, rig the actor & build animations in Milkshape. Then load the new ms3d file back into Equity to re-build the actor.

Does Milkshape have to be used? Are there any Equality tutorials?

Only if there is no skeleton in your actor. You could use max I suppose if you save from Equity as a 3ds file. Build a skeleton and rig it in max then export as .nfo and .key files then reload into Equity and build your actor. But as max costs $3000 and milkshape is only $35 the answer to that is obvious. Blender is a free program BUT it will take a year or 2 to learn and understand its interface and even then you will have to save from equity in either .obj or .3ds then load into Blender make a skeleton rig it & animate it then export from Blender as .mesh/.skeleton files then import those into Equity and build your actor.

There are a few and a small help file included with Equity (See Equity section on this forum). I do intend to write some eventually but I am too tied up with GameDirector at the moment and anyway Equity is very easy to use & virtually self explanitory.

Don't forget gmax! :D
It's a free program like 3ds max (by the same company), and can be found here: http://www.turbosquid.com/gmax
It takes a bit to get going, but it's worth it. I found it easier to learn than milkshape. Of course, I've been using gmax for 5 years now

I've been using G-max but I never managed to get the exporter keys to work. Do you know how to do this because i was able to make animations in G-max but not save them to the right format.

Make sure you clear the listener window before running the script. Also use YAGG (Yet another gmax grabber) to prevent any goof-ups when transferring to an .key file.

YAGG: http://yagg.doubleshadow.wz.cz/

When you saue it, be sure to add the ".key" file extension, otherwise it won't work.
