Reality Factory

when i am in RF edit pro and i press compile then preview reality factory, i get a black screen and then it just goes back to the level editor.

do u guys know how to solve this?

please post the contents of c:\realityfactory(or wherever you installed rf)\realityfactory.log .

I have had that happen but it usually tells you what the error was,
if not then your memory might be tapping out, reduce some textures or
try just cutting your level down until it runs..

well, all i had was the box that u start out with, an arch, and some stairs, and it didn't say that there was an error, it worked fine. cept for the black screen part.

does it do this with the default level? also, please post your computer's specifications.

what is the default level, and where do i find my computers specifications?

if you dont know how, lets just start with the default level and the log. to start the default level, just start realityfactory.exe and click new game. if it crashes before you can even get to newgame, the problem is the same (most likely) and is likely either a software or hardware problem; if it does not crash and runs the level fine, it is a problem with your level. either way, you can post what happens and we'll help you further.

ya ya, when i try to open RF from my desktop it does the same thing as in rf edit pro, it crashes, it shows a small black scrn in the middle of my scrn, (about 600 by 600 pixels) and then it shows a full black scrn and then it goes back to my desktop. all of this happens within about 2.5 seconds.

Also post what kind of machine you have, video card, memory,
operating system, direct x 9?

where do i find that stuff, on my computer?

and, i will try that link right now.

right-click my computer, choose properties, click the hardware tab, click device manager, expand display adaptors, and post the items under it.

also, please post realityfactory.log.

ok, the only thing under there is, Intel(R) 82810E Graphics Controller


and where is realityfactory.log

realityfactory.log is in c:\realityfactory.
