Water effects like Far cry......

I heard in the old forums about bumpmapped water. well, the water proc is not exactly very realistic....the flow proc too doesnt look good...
Is there any way to fake specular lighting for water? I could use spheremapping, but that would kill the flow effect since it is not dynamic.

well, realistic water is not possible in RF, but, i've been working on several approaches to this, and if i had more time i would eventually work something out. My current idea has to do with animated textures and spheremapping and using an animated "water mesh". I should have screens of this soon.

there is something about opengl water effects on
sulaco.co.nz
i think thats the address.
he was the person who started off quake 2 delphi.
but this is if you want to program a game.
(delphi is quality)
